A nice song from supercell and this music video is absolutely beautiful. Not sure if it is from a new anime, the art is very similar to Makoto Shinkai standard and not sure if it is done by him. Yes! Another anime from Makoto Shinkai, the creator of 5 cm per second, Voice of a Distant Star and The Place Promised in Our Early Days.

The story centers on Asuna, a girl who spends her solitary days listening to the mysterious music emanating from the crystal radio she received from her father as a memento. However, she embarks on a journey of adventure to meet a boy again, and thus comes to know the cruelty and beauty of the world, as well as loss.

This anime will be in Japan cinema in May 2011.

Makoto Shinkai is a very talented artist and director. Most of his stories are about long distance relationship which sometimes its painful to watch and depressing. All of the drawings in his anime is breathtaking and it can be mistaken as real sometimes.

An interesting watch. Check out Ume-sensei live painting using Wacom tablet device. Pretty neat. I love to see how she draw an anime character and the process. I wonder how long did she actually take to finish drawing for a single anime character. In the video it has sped up 3x but still the video is about 15 minutes long!

Ume-sensei is a mangaka who created the characters in Hidamari Sketch and she also made special appearance as a caterpillar like character called Ume-sensei and she also did the cover voice for the character as well.

In actual life, she never reveal on how she looks like. Even though she has, you won't be able to see her face clearly. It's a mystery. I guess a lot of mangaka does that to keep their privacy.

Music: supercell - Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari

It's embarrassing that I didn't post anything for so long. To get it back alive (for now) let's enjoy a song from supercell. Their song is Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari. This song is featured as an ending song for the anime, Bakemonogatari.

The anime itself is good and confusing at times, but still manage to satisfy me. Today I didn't have much to do so I decided to search for this song in Youtube and to my surprise they have a music video for it! But it is not related to the anime though.

The music video didn't disappoint because I like the girl in the video. Enjoy.

Kimi ni Todoke Live Action Movie

The story follows the coming-of-age story of Sawako Kuronuma, a high school girl whose long black hair and pallid skin leads the other kids to call her Sadako (after the ghost character in The Ring horror stories). She eventually changes her life with a little help from the popular boy Kazehaya and her other classmates. The movie will open in Japan on September 25.

As you may aware, Kimi ni Todoke originates from manga then adapted into a television anime series. If you have already watched the anime series then you should check out this live action movie. ^^

Eva 2.22: You can (not) advance Blu-Ray (Japan Version)

The blog been long dead due to my busy work life. To bring back the blog to life (for now) I will post about Eva 2.22 Blu-Ray release.

Eva 2.22 Blu-Ray and DVD was on sale on May 26, 2010. I pre-ordered my copy back in March 2010 and received it today. Was really happy and excited because the first press release (Japan version only) includes a random film strip from the original theater film. But I am not so lucky to get a good scene from it.

The packaging is very nice with bright and dark colors (orange and black). I liked the hard cover very much because it has metallic like color on it.

This is the film strip that I have got. The scene with Asuka and Misato just before the movie intermission. Although it's not the best film strip at least I get both girls. = P

Some lucky buyers in Japan got nice film strips which contain Asuka and they quickly post it in Yahoo! Auction Japan and got bids up to 80,000 yen! Check out the source here.

Eva 1.11: You are (not) alone Blu-Ray U.S. Release

Got my very first copy of Eva 1.11 on Blu-Ray or should I say, my first anime on Blu-Ray. Previously got it from "open sauce" because there is no English version of the anime. Now Funimation is distributing it and I have got it!

Pretty nice packaging and I have to say. . . . the whole thing loves finger prints!

If you have not heard or watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, Eva for short, you should start watching this.

Plot summary:

After the second impact, all that remains of Japan is Tokyo-3, a city that's being attacked by giant creatures that seek to eradicate the human kind, called Angels. After not seeing his father for more than eight years, Shinji Ikari receives a phone call, in which he is told to urgently come to the NERV Headquarters, an organization that deals with the destruction of the Angels through the use of giant mechs called Evas.Shinji's objective is to pilot the Eva Unit 01,while teaming up with the Eva Unit 00 pilot, Ayanami Rei.

Now Eva 2.0 already shown in Malaysia last month and I am definitely getting Eva 2.22 on Blu-Ray. Even though it's the Japanese version I will still be getting it because it is damn good! And I have watched it for 8 times! There is no news whether Funimation will pick up Eva 2.22. If yes, I will be getting it as well.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya PV

A one minute PV for Haruhi Suzumiya movie, The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya has began streaming at their official website!

When you enter the website you will see a fake error page and the trailer will begin streaming in a short while (depending on your Internet speed).

From the PV the movie seems to get pretty intense and serious. The characters look much more mature instead of moe compared to the TV series.

The official website for Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works began to stream the 50 second movie trailer. It's awesome go check it out now!

The all-new animated production will cover the Unlimited Blade Works storyline from Type-Moon's game franchise. The film will open in Tokyo's Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro and at least 11 other theaters throughout Japan on January 23, 2010.

First - Code Geass Project 2010. Yes, you have read it correctly. There will be a new Code Geass anime coming up next year!

Bandai's mobile phone website m-pub.channel.or.jp is hosting a graphic that reads as follows:

    New Code Geass
    Project Launch Green-Lit!

    Wait for more info in 2010!!

The image adds that this project represents a "rebirth" and that Geass will take a new step starting today. The message is signed with the name, "ZERO."

In the January 2009 issue of Gakken's Animedia magazine, the Sunrise anime studio indicated the possibility of more plans for its Code Geass science-fiction franchise. Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take.

Second - Loli mahou shoujo anime Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The Movie 1st Trailer

The official website of Seven Arcs' Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime franchise has begun streaming the full two-minute trailer for the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha The MOVIE 1st film on Thursday.

The original Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha anime series centered around Nanoha Takamachi, an ordinary third-grade girl who becomes a magical girl in search of Jewel Seeds from another world, and Fate Testarossa, another magical girl competing for the Jewel Seeds.

The film will remake the first 13-episode television season with entirely new, theatrical-quality animation. The trailer features the theme song "Phantom Minds" from Fate's voice actress, Nana Mizuki.

A television anime adaptation of Bow Ditama's Kiss×sis romance manga has been green-lit for next spring. The story follows the "forbidden" love between a boy and his two stepsisters. The manga has already inspired three original anime DVD volumes that are bundled with the limited first editions of the third, fourth, and fifth manga volumes. (The fifth manga volume will ship in Japan on November 20.)

From the PV I guess it's a remake of Macross Frontier TV series with better graphics, action scenes and some changes in the story line.

At the same time, ANN confirmed that there are 2 theatrical Macross Frontier films.

The official website of the Macross Frontier anime series has confirmed that there will be two theatrical Macross Frontier films. The second issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Macross Ace magazine had already confirmed on Friday that first film will open in Japan on November 21 under the name Gekijō-ban Macross Frontier ~Itsuwari no Utahime~ (Macross Frontier the Movie: The False Songstress). The second film, which is based on Shoji Kawamori and Studio Nue's latest sequel in the Macross science-fiction romance franchise, will tell a new story and include new music. (The first film re-edits the story of the television series with new footage.) No plans for further projects have been announced yet.

'Do You Remember Love?' Composer Kazuhiko Katoh Found Hanged

A grim news in the anime world. First is the mangaka for Crayon Shin Chan, Yoshito Usui who fell off a cliff and died and now is the composer of the main theme songs for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? who committed suicide by hanging himself.

Kazuhiko Katoh, the co-founder of two musical bands and the composer of the main theme songs for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? and Windaria, was found hanged in his hotel room in Nagano Prefecture on Saturday. He was 62. The local authorities believe he had committed suicide, due to two copies of a last will that he reportedly had left in his room.

Katoh made his musical debut with his college band The Folk Crusaders, which performed the hit songs "Kaette Kita Yopparai" and "Imujingawa." After The Folk Crusaders disbanded, he co-established The Sadistic Mika Band, a group that would break up and reunite several times over the years. The band became the first Japanese group to tour Great Britain when it opened for Roxy Music in 1975.

On his own, he composed music for several projects, including Mari Iijima's "Do You Remember Love?" ("Ai , Oboeteimasu ka?") theme song for The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? and Akino Arai's "Yakusoku" for Windaria. "Do You Remember Love?" proved to be mainstream hit when it landed at #7 on Oricon's weekly singles chart and #38 on the yearly chart for 1984. As part of The Sadistic Mika Band, he also wrote and performed the theme songs for Maruboshi Mabo-chan.

Seiyū Awards

Anime fans should not miss out to vote for their favorite seiyū (voice actor / actress). Previously the vote is only available in Japanese, but now it is available in English for foreign / overseas anime lover.

The 4th Annual Seiyū Awards is accepting votes in English and in Japanese from October 1 to January 1. The Seiyū Awards established the Overseas Fans Choice Award category last year "to recognize more voice actors by recognizing opinions from more areas." Jun Fukuyama won the first Overseas Fans Choice Award.

Officially, only votes from foreign fans are accepted for the Overseas Fans Choice Award, and the public vote determines the first round of candidates. The Seiyū Awards Selection Committee will make the "second assessment" for the award. The awards ceremony will be held at the Tokyo Anime Center in the Akihabara otaku shopping district on March 6.

Kobato. A weird anime name, but the trailer doesn't fail to catch my interest. ^^

Kobato is sweet and perky girl, but also extremely naive about the world around her. She has a "mission", which is to fill a mysterious bottle of hers with the suffering from people's hearts so her wish to go a certain place that she desires to go can be granted. However, she must not fall in love with a particular boy she works with and whose heart she must heal.

Mai Mai Miracle

Mai Mai Miracle. My first impression for this anime after watching the trailer is ... AWESOME!

If you look at the drawings, you will notice there's alot of similarities to Studio Ghibli anime. This is because this anime is directed by Sunao Katabuchi who was an assistant director on Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service.

This movie will be in Japan cinema on November 21, 2009. Be sure to buy the DVD/Blu-Ray when it's out! I am sure this will be an awesome anime.

In 1955 in western Japan, nine-year-old Shinko knows she comes from a family that dates back to over a thousand years. BOSS Can Coffee Rainbow Mountain

I have previously saw Tommy Lee Jones commercial about BOSS Coffee and last month I thought about it and searched for the commercial video again. The commercial is hilarious and Tommy Lee Jones is damn good in it. Each commercial last about 30 seconds and every one of them have its own funny moments. And best of all there is English subtitle.

After watching the commercials I got the urge to try out the BOSS Can Coffee Rainbow Mountain. At first I thought I won't be able to get it in Malaysia but surprisingly I saw it in Mid Valley, Jusco yesterday. Without thinking further I straight away take two cans with me. It's expensive and it cost RM6.90 per can. It's imported from Japan, so worth the try eh?

Today I get to taste it for the very first time and it is great! Strong roasted coffee bean taste and there's quite alot of milk in it. I think it helps reduce the chance of not being able to sleep after drinking the coffee. Overall I find it better compared to Nescafe.

Ok, I know I suck in describing how things taste. Earnest Hemmingway still the best in describing how things taste. Can't beat him.

C76 Comiket or known as Comic Market No. 76 has concluded and it has been the best attended Comiket ever. There are a total of 560, 000 people attended the event and there are also loads of sexy cosplayers.

The official blog of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Alive magazine announced that the company's YouTube channel would begin streaming an 82-second promotional video of The Sacred Blacksmith (Seiken no Blacksmith) television anime at midnight on Monday night.

The anime will premiere on Japanese television this fall.

The story takes place after an abominable war that foisted a "devil's contract" upon a land. Cecily Campbell, a former noble's daughter who joined a knighthood, encounters a man who dispatches some hoodlums with one sweep of a mysterious sword. The man possesses the power of the same "devil's contract" that has become taboo, now that peace has been restored. Cecily has been searching for a blacksmith who can repair an old sword she inherited from her father, and that mysterious young man happens to be blacksmith named Luke Ainsworth. This encounter launches their adventures together.

Announcement of the upcoming Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works movie is official. According to Sankaku Complex, the movie will cover the Unlimited Blade Works arc, and is set to hit cinemas January 23^rd, 2010.

All seiyuu cast from the TV series are set to reprise their roles in the movie.

Damn. I really wish that I live in Japan now. This Nerv mobile phone is released exclusively for NTT docomo subscribers in Japan only.

It is seen in the latest Evangelion movie, Eva 2.0: You can (not) advance. Gotta love the way they design the phone.

Really want to get my hands on this phone.

If you have no idea about Neon Genesis Evangelion or known as Eva in short form, then you should know about it now. Eva is one of the best mecha anime TV series back in year 1995. This is one of my favorite anime of all time and I have watched it plenty of times and never got bored of it. Simply fantastic. But please be warned that this is anime is not for everyone because in the later episodes of the anime can get very mentally disturbing.

Below is a brief description of the anime hijacked from Anidb:

In the year 2015, the Angels, huge, tremendously powerful, alien war machines, appear in Tokyo for the second time. The only hope for Mankind's survival lies in the Evangelion, a humanoid fighting machine developed by NERV, a special United Nations agency. Capable of withstanding anything the Angels can dish out, the Evangelion's one drawback lies in the limited number of people able to pilot them. Only a handful of teenagers, all born fourteen years ago, nine months after the Angels first appeared, are able to interface with the Evangelion. One such teenager is Shinji Ikari, whose father heads the NERV team that developed and maintains the Evangelion. Later in the year 2007, the anime got a remake and it is split into 4 part movie with new 3D CG for the Eva's, Japanese dubbing redone, new story line and new characters.

Woot! Three posts in a single night. A record breaking for me. ^^

Was browsing Sankaku Complex website today and saw this amazing Anemone cosplay pictures. Anemone is one of the character in Eureka Seven anime TV series. My favorite quote in the anime is 'Don't beg for it, earn it. Then it will be granted to you.' Don't miss this great anime!

This pretty cosplayer is Kanda Minori.

Well I didn't even complete my posting about Summer 2009 anime. Aoi Hana is one of the Summer 2009 anime that I am watching and haven't started to watch other anime's listed in there.

So which anime that I am looking forward to watch .... Hmm ... from the list, I am looking forward to watch the second season of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu: Purezza. The first season was great and just love Mamiko Noto who did the voice over for Nogizaka Haruka character. Her voice ... mmm... just melts me away.

Another anime that I am looking foward to is A Certain Scientific Rail Gun, which is a side story of A Certain Magical Index or To Aru Majutsu no Index.

Aoi Hana

Aoi Hana is one of the current anime I am watching. Its a 'Yuri' or known as lesbian love anime genre and I find it pretty interesting to watch. Started watching the first episode of the anime and I am totally hooked and looking forward to the next episode to know what is going to happen.

I loved the opening and ending song. Its so suitable for the anime. ^^

In the anime, I liked both characters Fumi-chan and Aa-chan. Both are childhood friends and got separated and lost contact because Fumi-chan have to move somewhere else. After 10 years, they finally got to meet each other again during their first year in high school. They are not studying in the same school, but in the anime seems like their school is just right next to each other.

Anyways, enough of my sucky explanation of the anime story, below is the anime description hijacked from ANN and a trailer:

Fumi Manjoume, an introverted, bookish teenage girl, is beginning her first year of high school at Matsuoka Girls' High School. She enters the school year with her heart broken by a previous relationship. At about the same time, she reconnects with her best friend from ten years ago, Akira Okudaira, who is now attending Fujigatani Girls' Academy as a first-year high school student. As they reconnect, they both deal with their own respective romantic problems, and help each other get through them.

Saw this video from Japan Probe as well. Its very very cute and please be assured, I am NOT a pedo bear.

Some people would think that it is not good to send their kids to do errands alone. For me I would partially agree. The two cute little kids in the video are below 10 years old and I think it is one of a great way to let their children to be independent. About safety, I would say it depends on which country you are currently residing.

On Monday night, NTV aired a special episode of “Hajimete no otsukai” (”First errand”), an adorable show that sends small children on errands. The kids are usually younger than 5-years-old, so few even notice that there are cameras watching them from across the street or sometimes from even a few feet away.

The video is partially subtitled segment showing two cute little kids, Masaki and his little sister Saika, as they go on a journey to buy the ingredients for their mom's beef stew:

As Japan is a lot safer than other countries, it seems okay for such small children to go out on their own (with a tv show staff watching over them from a distance). They readily speak with shopkeepers and elderly people they meet, and even accept food from strangers. There is always a lot of crying, but usually the kids manage to fulfill their missions.

Saw this anime movie trailer in Youtube and I fell in love with it instantly. This anime directed by the same person who did 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time' anime and it is gonna be another epic anime.

The light-hearted "action entertainment" story revolves around a modern-day family on a midsummer adventure. Bizarre occurrences spring up around the world, due to the intersections between reality and another world named Oz. At the behest of their 90-year-old grandmother, the family members must work together to save mankind.

Watched the English dub trailer for Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete, and to be honest... the dub is not good and my ears are bleeding. You can try watching the trailer at G4TV.com

In Final Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete (Director's Cut version), it contains about 30mins of new footage and some enhancements. It is only available only on Blu-Ray. So there is a reason get a PS3 to watch this movie. ^^

HELLO WORLD! I have started blogging due to influence by my work colleague / anime addict friend, Fini-chan.

This will be my first post here and hope to blog more stuff about animes, cosplay, figurines and some other 'ecchi' stuff. *grin*

To start things off, I am gonna talk about one of my favorite anime, Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden of Sinners.

The main character, Ryougi Shiki, was involved in a car accident and fell into a deep coma for two years. When she finally awoke from it, she had gained the “Eyes of Death Perception” ability but believed to have lost something instead.

The Ryougi family attempted to create human beings that exceeded normal humans, and to accomplish this, they trained their children in various martial arts and fencing, and also made them split their personalities. They believed that by using this method, one personality could be an expert in one subject while the other could be a master of other subjects. Shiki was no exception to this, and she had a masculine and feminine side that switched places with each other.

After having woken up from the accident, Shiki believed that her masculine personality side had died during the accident. Instead she tried to supplement the spiritually dead Shiki's personality by her masculine tone.

This is not a TV series anime, but a 7 part movie (Gekijouban in Japanese). The latest epsiode available on DVD is Part 5. If you are the person who don't mind watching ongoing anime, then you should ~~try~~ watch this anime now. Its awesome and if you know who is Yuki Kajiura and her music, then you will enjoy the anime even more.
